Approved 501(c) 3

Birds of a Feather Rescue has been approved by the IRS and we are now a 501(c) 3 organization.

Sweet Pea's Surgery

Dr. Rupiper at the East Petaluma Animal Hospital will be rebuilding Sweet Pea's wing today.  This is an excellent Veterinarian and if you have birds he is a must.  We are asking donations to help pay for this surgery.

Qualifying for a bird

It has been a while since posting but a lot has gone on here.

First let me explain that if you are not chosen as a qualified recipient for one of our birds it is not personal.  We have a strict set of guidelines to be sure these birds get the best of homes.

Recently we refused a woman and her husband a bird and got a scathing review on our facebook page.  The reason for the turn down was that they had a cockatoo that didn't like her husband so they quote "got rid of it".

Learn before you purchase

People buy birds, especially larger birds, because in many cases it is a sign of wealth and stature.  But when this is the case and people do not learn about the birds before buying, the only one that suffers is the bird.

Birds of a feather gives free classes on bird ownership and care.  Learn before you purchase so you and your bird will live a long and happy life together.  After all, they are a part of the family and this is a lifetime commitment.

BooBoo

BooBoo at the Solar FairBooBoo is on the front page.  He is 9 years old and is a rescue.  This one rides bicycle with me and is a constant companion.  Keep checking back for updates and photos of birds as the come in and become available.
